Though I was not fully prepared to migrate the site yet, with the recurring database issue returning again on Friday I went ahead and migrated everything last night. Things have seemed much quicker on this server, but of course there is not really any server load yet.
The forum itself didn't really get 'downsized' as had been the plan, simply because of the timeframe the decision to migrate was made in. The features have been removed, as well as the links page, and the Cobalt theme has been disabled and removed as well. Some older images and videos were removed too, if you notice something specific (i.e. you know the exact filename) is missing and you would like a copy please let me know.
I will keep an eye on the resource usage, and if needed some actual forum features might be disabled too.
If you notice any login issues please be sure to clear your browser cache and either clear your cookies or delete the SS cookies. You might notice sporadic issues such as attempting to view a page or make a post, and instead being directed to the old server, which should clear up within 24-48 hours as the DNS Propagation completes.
Please let me know if you come across anything else and you know I will do my best to fix it.

First off, many thanks to Kai for sending me a heads up email on the issue...no Kai, I had no idea. Thank You!!
This site is heavily database driven, so sometimes a small issue can turn almost the entire site into a database error page. If it is a very small issue, it might even initially get overlooked...on the other hand, when the entire site goes down I get numerous emails about it from the server just before it calls it quits.
With this latest outage, short of pulling up the site, my only clues were two error lines in the log of the daily database optimization/repair script. A couple of the tables had been corrupted beyond repair, so I restored them from the last (daily) database backup...I do not think we lost much, if any, data. The root cause has been identified and rectified, so we should be good moving forward.
The site might be a bit slow as the cache (temp files) builds back up, as we did do a hard reboot of the server. If anyone notices anything strange please do not hesitate to send me an email at webmaster@speed-society.com; additionaly, if the server ever seems to be completely down (page cannot be found) I can also be reached at nsomneeak@gmail.com ...I will always try to address the issue as soon as possible.
